Hire Tuddenham Hall

Have your next event at our Scout Hall!

Tuddenham Hall is a wonderful space for meetings, events and parties, nestled alongside the Coburg Lake Parklands and Merri Creek reserve. Best of all, your hire fees go directly to our not-for-profit Scout Group — so you'll be supporting local youth development while enjoying a great venue.

Please note: The hall is not available for casual hire during summer school holidays, and we require a minimum of two weeks' notice for all bookings. Our inbox is checked every few days, so please plan ahead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I inspect the hall? Yes! Start by viewing the hall online. If you'd like an in-person look, email us at 1stcoburgscoutsgroup@gmail.com to arrange a time.

Can I book extra time for setup and pack-down? Yes, if the hall is available. Make sure you include setup and pack-down time within your hire period to avoid any issues.

When do I return the key? By 10:00am the following morning, unless prior arrangements have been made.

Are there cancellation fees? Yes. A $50 cancellation fee applies up to two weeks before your booking date. After that point, the full hire fee is non-refundable.

What tables and chairs are available? We have trestle tables (seating 8–10 each) and 50+ stackable chairs and bench seats — enough for around 80 people. Let us know your needs when booking so we can have everything ready.

Are plates and glasses provided? The kitchen has some glasses and plates, but we recommend bringing your own for larger groups. We also have quality melamine plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery for up to 50 people available to hire — ask when enquiring (note these are prioritised for Scout events and camps).

Is audio-visual equipment available? Yes — we are currently trialling hire of a short-throw data projector for $30 per booking. It's HDMI/VGA compatible and delivers an image of over 100 inches, ideal for presentations and video. A free roll-down screen is also available if you bring your own projector.

Is a PA system available? No — there is no PA system or piano on site.

Can I decorate the hall? Yes, but please use string or Blu-Tac only — tape can damage paintwork. All decorations must be removed before you leave. No signage is permitted on the exterior of the building.

Is smoking permitted? No. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the premises. Please do not discard cigarette butts on the surrounding parklands.

How much noise is acceptable? The hall is in a residential neighbourhood. Please keep noise and music to moderate levels, contained within the hall, and be considerate of neighbours when departing.

Am I required to clean the hall? Yes — please leave the hall as you found it. This includes:

  • Removing all balloons, decorations and adhesives
  • Washing and storing all kitchen items used (including dishwasher items)
  • Wiping down tables, chairs and benchtops with disinfectant, and restacking in the furniture cupboard
  • Cleaning bathrooms and wiping surfaces with disinfectant
  • Removing all food from the kitchen and fridge
  • Sweeping floors (and mopping if necessary — use minimal water to protect the timber)
  • Picking up any litter or cigarette butts outside the entrance

Brooms, a mop, bucket and cleaning supplies are provided.

Do I need to take my rubbish? Yes — all rubbish must be taken with you. Nothing is to be left on the kerbside. We recommend bringing a few sturdy bags. Our bins are reserved for Scout Group use.

What if damage occurs? Contact us immediately and let us know what happened, what was damaged, whether anyone was injured, and whether there is any ongoing risk. The Group may require the hirer to repair or replace damaged items. Liability extends beyond the security deposit, and the Group or Scouts Victoria may pursue recovery of costs where necessary.
