Welcome to 1st Coburg

 Welcome to our group

Welcome to 1st Coburg Scout Group!

The parents, carers and leaders of 1st Coburg Scout Group warmly welcome new youth members to our community. We are an inclusive and friendly bunch, and we are so delighted to have you on board!

We're stronger together

Our group is completely volunteer-run, which means we rely on all families to get involved, lend a hand, and help us thrive. There are plenty of ways to contribute — big and small:

  • Fundraising — help out at fundraising events and activities
  • Hall cleaning roster — join our roster to keep our hall in top condition for youth and leaders alike
  • Working bees — help us maintain and improve the hall
  • Parent helper — assist leaders with events, activities and camps
  • Committee member — help keep the group running smoothly behind the scenes
  • Leader — plan and run engaging, meaningful activities for our young members

The more people we have involved, the stronger our group will be!

Interested in getting involved? Reach out to us at 1stcoburgscoutsgroup@gmail.com — we'd love to hear from you.

What we ask of all families

To keep our group running well for everyone, all families of youth members are expected to contribute in the following ways:

  1. Hall cleaning (once per term) — A quick and easy task that can be done while your child attends Joeys, Cubs or Scouts. Keeping the hall in good shape means our youth and leaders can focus on fun and engaging activities.
  2. Camp support (at least once) — Having parent helpers on camps frees up leaders to focus on leading. Helpers pitch in with setting up, cooking and packing up — and it's a great way to be part of the adventure!
  3. Committee membership (one year) — We have a wonderful committee and always welcome fresh faces and new ideas. You can join at any point during the year. The committee meets quarterly, runs fundraising activities, and runs the 'back of house' side of the group.
