Everyone is Welcome at 1st Coburg Scout Group
We believe Scouting is for everyone. 1st Coburg Scout Group proudly embraces Scouts Victoria's Youth Membership Policy:
"Consistent with the national and international principles of Scouting, Scouts Victoria is open to all young people without distinction of origin, race or creed. Membership shall be voluntary, without distinction of gender or abilities."
Are you ready for the adventure? We'd love to have you along!
Try It Out — For Free!
Thinking about joining? We make it easy to give Scouting a go before you commit.
Simply get in touch with us by email with your child's name, age and the suburb you live in, and one of our friendly volunteers will connect you with the right Section Leader. From there, your child is welcome to try out 2–3 sessions completely free of charge — and parents and guardians are warmly encouraged to stay and see what Scouting is all about.
After your trial visits, we'll invite you to formally register your child with our Group and Scouts Victoria — unlocking all the benefits that come with being an official Scout member.

Membership Fees
We're a not-for-profit group, so every dollar goes directly to keeping our Group and the wider Scouts movement running. Our Parent Committee — who are all Scout parents themselves — works hard to keep costs as low as possible.
For the 2026–2027 membership year (1 April – 31 March):
- Single membership: $450 per child
- Family discounts available for multiple children
- Joining mid-year? Fees are pro-rated — just ask your Section Leader for details
Other costs to be aware of include a uniform shirt and any optional excursions or camps throughout the year.
Experiencing financial difficulty? Please don't hesitate to speak with your Section Leader, the Group Leader or the Group President. We will always do our best to find a way to keep your child in the Group — no family should miss out on Scouting.
Child Safe Scouting
The safety and wellbeing of every young member is our highest priority. Scouts Victoria is a child safe organisation with a zero-tolerance policy for any form of harm, abuse or neglect.
We celebrate the diversity of our members — including gender, sexuality, race, religion and ability — and are committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment for everyone.
All leaders and committee members hold a current Working With Children Check, and leaders are also required to complete regular National Police Record Checks.
